Regrettably selling my very early (pre-1990) Lemond steel road bike frame. Made in Italy with French Excell 'Special steel' tubing, presumably by Bilato, this pre-dates when Greg Lemond started having mass produced bikes made for him by various frame makers. Time to face reality that this bike is too big for me. It's a piece of history that I wanted to keep, but need to make some space. The whole frame is chrome, but upper part painted a dark blue. Frame is in good shape, with some wear shown. Stickers are in very good shape. Right now, set up as my 'hipster bike' - single speed with a flip-flop rear hub, can turn it around and run fixed if desired. Sporting a sweet vintage Selle Italia black and red saddle with a nice Thompson seat post, Bull horn handle bars and an Ultegra front brake. Or, if you only want the frame and fork, I can remove the components and sell the frame and fork separately. It still has it's derailleur hanger, shifter bosses, and all cable routing to set it back to a standard road bike if you have a vintage group set from the late 80's. I might also have some suitable parts to start that process. It's a 25" (63.5cm) very tall frame for taller folks, and the chrome fork is not the original. For 700c wheels, rear spacing is 120mm, suitable for 5 or 6 speed hubs. Could probably be spread a little to accommodate a 7 speed hub. $650 as is in 'Hipster' format, frame and fork with Italian threaded bottom bracket and no name headset only for $500.
