This is the famous 1000 piece puzzle by artist Mike Wilkins that was formerly available in the Smithsonian shop. I think that you can still get the unassembled puzzle on eBay. This puzzle was completed by my elderly mother . She was so proud that she paid to have it professionally matted and framed.
Mike Wilkins celebrated the bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution by requesting personalized license plates from all fifty states to form its preamble. He actually was able to complete this project with the states in alphabetical order!
