Very Educational: 3 Piece Facsimile 1St Edition Britannica Encyclopedia Set
There are no originals for sale anywhere. There are very few originals of the original 3-volume sets of the 1st Encyclopedia Britannica ever made. Most are in only the best museums and libraries. The originals took over 3-years to be printed (1768 to 1771) and when they were completed they were sold in 1771, priced at 12 pounds sterling apiece, that was a lot of money back them. That was a lot of money back them and not too many were sold. This is why there are no originals available for sale to the public. But there are some printed reproductions out there for sale.
This is a first edition of the 3 Piece Facsimile 1St Edition Britannica Encyclopedia Set Britannica, 1768 to 1771 in a three volume facsimile set. This is a very nice replica printed of the 1st three book set that Encyclopedia Britannica made.
They have a brown hardcover binding in really nice condition. They contain 160 black and white illustrations, some of which are the old fold-out style. Even the paper used to print these have the old book style and color. This are very heavy books that weights about 12-pounds

** SPECIAL NOTE** The original set of Encyclopedia Britannica First Edition (1768–1771) was a 3-volume reference work, an edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica. It was developed during the encyclopedia's earliest period as a two-man operation founded by Colin Macfarquhar and Andrew Bell, in Edinburgh, Scotland, and was sold unbound in subscription format over a period of 3 years. Most of the articles were written by William Smellie and edited by Macfarquhar, who printed the pages. All copperplates were created by Bell.
