Environmental Protection Services (EPS) is seeking highly motivated individuals to play a crucial role in safeguarding the public from the hazards associated with abandoned mines. Abandoned mine sites can pose significant risks, including water contamination, acid mine drainage, and public safety concerns. As an Abandoned Mine Closure Worker, you will be instrumental in mitigating these risks and protecting the associated habitat.
Responsibilities:
Conduct field investigations and assessments of abandoned mine sites.
Participate in the safe and effective closure of abandoned mines, employing techniques like mine hazard safety fencing, Bat Gates, Puf Closures and Mechanized Backfill.
General labor and material transport.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in general labor.
Strong willingness to learn the regulations and best practices for abandoned mine closure.
Ability to work outdoors in challenging terrain and weather conditions.
Excellent physical fitness and stamina for physically demanding tasks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to travel and work in remote locations of Nevada.
