Schedule – Flexibility is required as you may be required to work weekends and overtime – Worksites will be places such as Libraries and malls.
CORE SKILLS
Running EMT conduit (straight runs, offsets, 3-point saddles, box offsets)
Pulling wire for branch circuits (lighting, receptacles, small equipment)
Installing and terminating devices (switches, duplex outlets, GFCIs, data rough-in boxes)
Basic panel work (landing branch circuits cleanly, labeling, torquing to spec under supervision)
Reading and working from blueprints, reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), and electrical schedules
Understanding circuiting and load basics (keeping neutrals, hots, and grounds correct; avoiding shared neutral mistakes unless designed)
Roughing in for new walls, relocated offices, conference rooms, and retail layouts
Coordinating with HVAC, low-voltage, fire alarm, and plumbing trades
Ceiling grid work familiarity (above-grid layout, fixture placement, J-box support, hanger wire requirements)
Installing LED panels, troffers, and downlights
Installing switching systems (standard, occupancy sensors, and occasionally relay-based systems)
Basic familiarity with energy code requirements (occupancy sensors, daylighting controls, etc.)
Field Independence & Productivity
Lay out work from plans with minimal supervision
Keep production moving without constant instruction
Anticipate material needs
Work efficiently with minimal rework
Maintain clean, code-compliant installations without constant correction
Code & Safety Awareness
WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF:
NEC basics (especially Chapters 2, 3, 4, and 5 relevant to commercial TI)
GFCI/AFCI requirements (where applicable in commercial spaces)
Proper conduit fill and support spacing
Jobsite safety (LOTO basics, ladder safety, PPE, working around live systems)
Panel clearances and working space requirements
Low-Voltage Awareness (Common in TI)
